Sam Robinson was born in 1979, his father was raised in London and his mother in Barcelona so Sam and the family spent the early years of his life between the two cities finally settling in London for his teenage years. These two different cultures have had a huge influence on his photography and his life; now he strives to balance his time between both cities.

Sam was given a camera at an early age by his father and since then is rarely seen without one. After studying photography at Nottingham Trent University followed by a couple of years assisting in London Sam soon started shooting his own commissions and has been freelance ever since. In 2006 Sam built his studio in central London and is now based from there.

Sam is currently lucky enough to be shooting commissions across the world for many varied clients and different subjects.

"I was born and raised in between Barcelona and North London with my later high school years in North London. After school I wanted to further my education in the Arts and enrolled onto an Art foundation course at Middlesex University. This was a one year course but was certainly one of the pivotal points of my photography career. During this period i was so focused on the photography element of the course that, with some other students we set up a purely photographic element to the course to enable us to concentrate on Photography. This was a hugely experimental time with photography for me and from here i produced the work that later enabled me to enrol in my degree course and the rest as they say is history...Middlesex for me will always be a hugely influential place in the history of my career and i look forward to visually discovering it with fresh eyes."
