"This will form part of my Sussex Photographs project: here

The project focuses on open spaces within Sussex. Places like Parks, Woodlands, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Sites of Special Scientific Interest, Beaches etc. Looking at the landscapes, the people that help maintain them and the people that enjoy them.

On Wednesday 17th February I headed to St Leonards in East Sussex with several objectives in mind, I wanted to visit a gallery that could be a potential location to exhibit my Sussex work, a day out for my daughter and I and of course, take some photographs...

Whilst walking along the promenade, Myla decided she wanted to go down to the sea and throw some pebbles. As we got nearer the sea I spotted a guy taking a dip on a sunny, but very chilly February day. I couldn't resist the opportunity and as he walked out of the sea towards his clothes and dog, I went to strike up a conversation and ask if I could take his portrait to which he agreed. I know very little about him, other than he swims at this beach often, nearly every day."
